| Black Metal | With a superior will and inspiration from the black arts has Chalice of Blood created a EP that is highly divine!

The whole work is rendered with an infernal strength. Each instrument is part of a condemned army marching forward into the eternal darkness. The guitars play magical arrangements with fast melodies that rips like a ceremonial  dagger.  The bass is like a black fog surrounding everything i mysticism. And the drums chop and rips like a poisonous snake. Together they form a divinely dark and beautiful symbiosis.

The song Structure is like an obscure temple. It is both majestic in its own way, while it is constructed of simple earthly means. It's very bare to the surface, but on the inside, its totally wildness and chaos. The album feels alive, as if it is a own creature, an uncontrollable beast from a place far away from where we live.

The production leaves room for each instrument, and let them speak for themselves, while it all takes place in a large echoing void. Another masterful album from Sweden who end up in the same league as other bands like Ofermord and Ondskapt.

Black Metal. This album contains: fast furious riffs that tears like sharp knife through your eardrum. Blasting hellish drums that will pulverize your brain into dust. Experimental digital synthesizers that ads an extra dimension to the opus. A crystal clear production that sometime tends to a being a bit plastic. If you want something that is easy to just pick up and listen to, then this is your album. All in all, its a good record, even if it lakes some substance.

Death/Black Metal. They say no one can hear you scream in space, but what you could hear in your mind is a other thing. This record is probably the closest you could get to the sounds and atmosphere in your mind as you pass through cosmic voids, wormholes and interstellar travels until your inevitable doom and enlighten. The album is filled with gloomy space effects and ambiance, all covered in a doom metal veil. It succeeds well to bring forth the feeling of the pitch black emptiness of space.

Black Altar - Black Altar

Here we have the venerable polish one man project Black Alter with their latest release. Some of the songs on the EP were actually meant to be on a Shining split that never happened, and its a good fucking thing that it diden't!!! The five songs stands really good on their own feets, with an competent and somewhat death metal inspired sound to them in this suicidal concoction. The album begins with an kind of creepy and atmospheric piano and then all hell breaks loose with fire and brimstone!!! With fast grinding drums, dark downtuned guitars and great agonizing potent vocals of the more darker kind. You may think that there are a lack of mood because of the DM influences, but then you are fucking dead wrong. They mange to evoke an great atmosphere in every song both with the great guitar riffs and with an helping hand from a keyboard (Sparingly used!!!). Its an great collection of five ghastly awesome tracks, well worth a check up!!!

REVIEW AlNamrood - Jaish AlNamrood

This is something new for this temple (blog) of the devils voice, a band from Saudi Arabia!?! Bands from the middle east isn't something that the scene overflows with directly, especially good ones. I fucking like the music I hear, even though its kind of a guilty pleasure, Maybe its massive amounts of keyboards and the apparent drum machine that makes me feel a little bit ashamed about enjoying it. But fuck, this rerecording of the bands first songs is good as hell!!! The middle eastern influences in the music is done beautifully and still keeping it on some kind of primitive level, and that what's make this band standing out. And don't forget the monotonic shitty drum machine (I always had weakness for drum machines, don't fucking ask why), it works perfectly here, and brings to the whole experience too. Think old Falkenbach butt scrap the viking influences and replace them with middle eaten and you are there.
