Begrime Exemious - Begrime Exemious / Flash Out

| LABEL | Filth Regime Records | AVDIO | Bandcamp
| Black/Death Metal/Crust | TRAILING fucking dirty BM with the right attitude and with a sickening darkness.

Begrime Exemious begins with its lead heavy interpretations that rides on the loose flapping base in all the songs. It's catchy as hell, a total discharge of emotions. It rumbles like doomsday is near, and the singer messes with his persuasive voice that the end is near. And I enjoy it along my entire bony spine of pleasure and ungodly terror.

The next half is dedicated to Flash Out which plays a mix of Death Metal, Crust, Grindcore to name a few. It's bluster, madness and total fucking war in every song. It's fast and deafening like a cannon on speed. It is as crazy as a sergeant possessed of a thousand spirits of dead soldiers. It's a damn nice experience, which unfortunately is over way too fast!

Black Metal. Here we have a record that is fast, malicious and rabid like a possessed whore. Its like an tank driven by an rabies infected terrorist with spine fluid running down his back. Yeah you get the picture, you are going to get run over real fast and brutally. The riffs are fast, but not so innovative and mood setting. Fast blastbeating drums that just mangles on like a bomb factory in the second world war. The production is kind of clean with some gritty elements. So take the record for what it is, its something that is easy to putt on and listen to, even if there isn't much else after that.

With one of the lengthiest album titles in the history delivers the UK black metal band Inconcessus Lux Lucis a great debut album that is both melodic and illuminating for the mind.

The album always rides on the excellent carnal melodies without compromising the genuine BM atmosphere. Its an solid release that is exciting to explore for both the ears and mind without making it an pompous cake of bombastic overload. Its melodic BM done the right way with a meaning and a purpose.

Another day, another review of chaos and destruction, today in the form of the american black metal band Wormreich and their latest EP. And what a excellent release it is, it has everything to offer that I demand from a BM record. Diabolical song structures, a grim atmosphere and songs that touch you on a deeper level.

This release is a good example of that the genre is still vital and produces material that is competent and brings small new elements to the genre without changing the structure.

Suffering - Chaosatanas

Watch out for this powerful occult outburst!!! The polish band Suffering offer up an energetic release that both are fast, gruesome and ritualistic. The weave together a vivid atmosphere with dragging ear piercing guitars (with a perfect feels-in-the-spine distortion) and the fast blast beating drums (that also plays in midtempo in a couple of songs). Together with the high pitched grievous vocals being chanted possessed like by Armagedon and you have an dreadful symbios from another plain. The production has a very dynamic sound to it that feels very close and natural, (without an fancy effects and other bullshit) and you feel a constant presence through the speakers. Chaosatanas is timeless, it could as well have been done twenty years ago as today. It has this classical sound to it that always are pleasing, with songs and structure that stands the test of time. Check it out if you want a solid experience and not just another "McBM" on the conveyor belt.

Black Altar - Black Altar

Here we have the venerable polish one man project Black Alter with their latest release. Some of the songs on the EP were actually meant to be on a Shining split that never happened, and its a good fucking thing that it diden't!!! The five songs stands really good on their own feets, with an competent and somewhat death metal inspired sound to them in this suicidal concoction. The album begins with an kind of creepy and atmospheric piano and then all hell breaks loose with fire and brimstone!!! With fast grinding drums, dark downtuned guitars and great agonizing potent vocals of the more darker kind. You may think that there are a lack of mood because of the DM influences, but then you are fucking dead wrong. They mange to evoke an great atmosphere in every song both with the great guitar riffs and with an helping hand from a keyboard (Sparingly used!!!). Its an great collection of five ghastly awesome tracks, well worth a check up!!!

REVIEW Dødsfall - Kronet i svart eld

The black flaming procreation begins with a classic sample from the formidable movie The Seventh Seal to processed to the devouring flames of traditional BM (as it always has been, and always will be) that this EP delivers! This norwegian/swedish collaboration really succeeds to generate that old, raw and cold feeling from the ancient (probably not so fucking old!!!) days of black metal in a proper way. They build up a creation that feels fairly genuine with solos, the kind of guitars that weaves you into the endless darkness with its string plock and all the midtempo you ever could have asked for!?! And of course are the production very primitive with the drums farthest away and the (extremely raw and grim) vocals closest  in the production (with the "necro sound" as it should be). It may not deliver anything particularly new, but its a nostalgic journey to the past, before there were millions of subgenres under BM and everything derailed. Come forth and be crowned in the black fire!!!

REVIEW Inferno - Omniabsence Filled by His Greatness

The Czech band Inferno (one of the trillions!!!) probably don't need any introduction, as they are in my opinion one of the more interesting active bands to date. They always has the ability to deliver something that feels genuine but at the sametime current, and the latest procreation aren't any exception, even if I had my doubts the first time I heard it. Their sixth full-length album surprised me substantially, they have taken a big leap from their last album "Black Devotion" (which were infernal consummate!!!) and left a lot of the straight black'n'rolling sound behind for a more epic tone. They conjure up a grand temple with the bombastic guitars as the pillars and the marvelous lyrics as the altar, all covered with the fantastic productions as the altar cloth!!! They make you travel through the gates into the dark, horrible and beautiful untreated wilderness. The opus fills you with wisdom you couldn't even imagine (and stays there in a secluded area of your consciousness for a long time) in form of its almost excellent written and performed songs. This is an album you can't miss, maybe even one of the most important albums from last year!!! I command you to check it up now!!!

REVIEW Satanic Assault Division - March to Victory

Watch out!!! Here comes a devilish assault straight through the fucking guts from the danish panzer platoon called Satanic Assault Division!!! This is straightforward and simple with short songs and some rockin undertones and thrash influences (which makes it kind of catchy occasionally). It easy to draw parallels to their scandinavian colleagues at Impaled Nazarene, both in the lyrical and musical department. It may not be the most imaginative concoction, but hey, it doesn't always have to be either. If you just want something right in the kisser without some underlying hidden messages and preto thoughts, just plain old antichristian warmongering stuff, then this is fucking right for you!!! Now to the shitty stuff, there are some irritating synth sounds in the background once in a while. Don't really know what the fuck they are, but they interferes the battle like hell, and feels more misplaced than a catholic priest in a nudie bar (without any young boys?!?). And the record would really had benefited from a better production, it sounds kind of tinny and weak, it feels almost castrated, the balls and attitude this music needs aren't really there. But there are still a lot of good shit here to find between all the rotten skulls!!!

3 FAST REVIEWS Mindgrinder, Vattnet Viskar, Gorthaur's Wrath

Mindgrinder - Prop Agenda

This ain't that fucking bad actually, rather the opposite, it was quite surprisingly good,  if you could call this BM?!? You hear more death than black here, with a lot of electronic effects!!! But hey it works fine as a whole experience. There are of course imprints in the music from the other members bands like Zyklon and The Wretched End to name a few. Its well played and interesting enough to keep you  listening throughout the whole record.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vattnet Viskar - Sky Swallower

Vattnet Viskar (swedish for the water whispers) is kind of an interesting release with its epic style of BM mixed with Doom. The album has a heavy spacey feeling to it with its magnificence in the songs, but at the same time you feel a great emptiness, like you are falling into an endless void. Its gets a little to slow and dull for my taste occasionally, but on the other hand is it a part of the space atmosphere. So give it a try if thats the kind of stuff you like.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gorthaur's Wrath - Wrath War for Heaven

This is apparently one of the first Croatian black metal bands to appear. But don't be fooled and start thinking this is some old school shit, for there are as much heavy metal in the music as it is BM. Sure there are some interesting stuff here (especially the track The Lucifer Rebellion) and I ain't saying they are bad in any way, but are you looking for real BM you probably should look somewhere else. But are you after a good melodic metal record with shades of black, then you have come fucking right.

Cult of Fire - मृत्यु का तापसी अनुध्यान (Ascetic Meditation of Death)

Oh Kali, this record, where should I begin?!? The first time I heard this record, after I just had listened to the first notes on the beginning track, those tunes spoked directly to me, to the deepest fearsome parts of the body and mind. I couldn't stop thinking of this album, I heard the chaintings, the meditational rhythms, instruments and the atmosphere of it all. I came to the realisation that I was possessed beyond all salvation by this epic occult creation, and it only grew deeper. I insist this is something out of the ordinary, It ain't often you come over a record that are this excellent on so many levels, and that starts on such high pedestal only to claim higher. Its an almost perfect constellation of bombastic black metal with instruments and tones from hindu mythos combined with the luciferian teachings. This is the textbook example how you make music the right way without the syntherziser taking over, this is the definition of quality black metal! Unlike other shit you hear today, this has a higher meaning, a higher consciousness!!! This album is like a fine wine, it's not just something you put on in the background and minds your own business, this is a album you put on to really listening to, tasting it, analysing it and embracing it, this is a whole experience!!! Maybe one of the best releases last year!?!

FAST REVIEWS Craven Idol, Filii Nigrantium Infernalium, Germ, Absent Heat

Craven Idol - Towards Eschaton

This album reeks of thrash- and sulphuric black metal with its fast drums, thrashy riffs, screaming solos and some doomsday choirs.
This UK group delivers everything you have come to expect from this poisonous mixture. It isn't bad by any means, but ain't that thrilling ethier...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Filii Nigrantium Infernalium - Pornokrates: Deo Gratias

This is a kind of interesting christ-defying cocktail with a lot of heavy- and thrash metal influences mixed in the receduce of black metal in the bottom of a black bucket. It overflows with all kinds of classical heavy metal riffs, and it ain't that bad, most of the times. Not much remains of what once were of this old portuguese group, but it's still a rewarding listening experience to take, at least once...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Germ - Grief

I really had high expectations for this album after his last EP "Loss" which I cherished indefinitely. But this album disappointingly does not live up to the predecessor. It absolutely ain't bad, the melancholy, the emptiness and despair is all present with its keyboard oriented music. But the mood is not quite here, the synthesizers and clean vocals takes up to much space and destroys some tracks that could have been great.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Absent Heat - Absence of Heat

This is an excellent album if you need to slumber. For almost everytime I have listened to this record I have fallen asleep. I don't really know why, it ain't that boring, maybe its the soundscape that sooths you or some magick stuff. But this album moves you're far away into your unconsciousness anyway. Other then that is this the typical stuff for depressive BM with noisy guitars and rabid distorted screams. Try it if you can't sleep.

REVIEW Voidhanger - Working Class Misanthropy

As you probably know by now, we here at DV have a predilection for BM of the more rockin' kind, and thats what this polish band delivers unto us like a punch in the fucking spleen. From the first tone are we invited to an excellent lesson in how you do high quality BM with a good fucking intensity and still keeping the essence from the roots of it all. But there aren't just rock'n'roll influences here, the album are teeming with a lot of punk influences too! This brings some fucking nice attitude to the recording and makes it kind of old school in a way. But on the other hand can you find a lot of crystal clear inspirations from polish death metal (of course!), which totally contradicts the last claim of them being old school!?! But thats the thing, the duality, the fucking have both!!! They have taken the best of the old and mixed it with the newer technical stuff with a great interesting result. If you want both, new and old, with some punk rock pumping through the veins, check this shit out!!!

REVIEW Nekrokrist SS - Der Todesking

Here is something for you dwellers out there who have been longing for some good fucking primitive stuff. Here is a record without no fucking bullshit and frills, its just plain simplistic BM at its essence. The record starts of with a childrens choir singing the classic swedish/finish psalm "Hosianna, Davids son", what a better start can you ask for from this abyssal manifestation?!? This is BM in its pure foundation, with the buzzing razorsharp guitar riffs, the midtempo drums and punk influences, and of course is the influences of Darkthrone more than noticeable, but hey, what the fuck do you expect?!? This is good shit that speaks to you reptile brain without any fancy fucking shit!!!

REVIEW Nahemoth - Novum Testamentum: Evangelium Morti

My first impression of the album were that it kind of sounded like Watain, but that were merely an hasty illusion from my ears and mind. They are not in any way close to the excellent music Watain produces. But don't get me wrong, this is in no way a bad album, rather the opposite. I like what I am hearing here with its kind of melodic and  Dissection odorus BM. From the beginning church bells that sets the mood with some obligated acoustic guitars. There are nothing wrong with the musical actions either, they kind of bring everything you want from this kind of album, with both atmosphere, lyrically and the mixture with both the more calm parts with the echoing melody from the guitar to the more fastpaced parts. Its a good fucking album to sum it all up. Look it up!!!

REVIEW Temple of Baal - Verses of Fire

What a fucking colossus of a album, this is a really meaty experience, both with its length and the brutality of the recording. This is not a pure black metal album by any means, (if there even are any of those now a days?!?) there are equal amounts of death metal as there are BM in this darkened chalice. This is usually a mix I do not tend to be crazy about, but this excellent French band there is a different story. They mix them together in almost perfection and still retains the most important from both genres. This is a great album all throughout the whole record with interesting texts, fantastic riffs and that dirty rotten guitar distortion from old school death metal that we all cherish!!!

REVIEW Throne of Katarsis - The Three Transcendental Keys

This band probably don't need any introduction, or else you have been living under million cubics of volcanic ash. This is the norwegian bands fourth opus, and its really differentiates itself from their previous releases with epic long tracks filled with atmosphere and eerie gloom. With no track under ten minutes and the longest and concluding track clocking in at just over 20 minutes, you get the ide.The agonizing haunting screams commingled with chantings summons this almost excellent release of ritualistic music.

REVIEW Blackdeath - Phobos

Here is something as weird as a russian black metal band that sings in the german tongue, and thats absolutly nothing bad about it. The band claims that they play "Apocalyptic Black Metal", and thats probably not so fucking far out. Imagine yourself on a desolated wasteland with nothing than some plague ridden dead plants and a couple of dying chanting mad monks that stroll the razor sharp sand, and you are almost there.
