All the songs on the disc are constructed as classical music, they're downright symphonic, without using such nonsense as synths or other cheating devises. In order to accomplish this feat requires almost a genius, or someone that reincarnate carnal knowledge.  They manage to create such a massive space in their music, it's like one moves weightlessly through blind corridors on a astral plane. 

Everything is extremely well recorded to the smallest detail, every single chord sounds like the strings of a doomsday orchestra aimlessly riding in chaos. The atmosphere is always present, it's like you constantly have a creature breathing down your neck, and your body is filled with a devouring void, wanting only more, and more!!!

The album has a lot of ritualistic aspects with the chanting tones, voices  and structure. But it is also a journey through the unknown darkness. It really takes you to other places, far beyond, you see things foul and disgusting. It all comes together in a creation that is both deafening beautiful, terrifying and otherworldly.

Hyperborean - Mythos of the Great Pestilence

A release that builds on old solid ruins but incorporates new elements in an excellent way without making it an symphonic gothfeist of fist fucking.

It has both great melodies, structure and makes the wild experimental lusts speak. An album for people that like their BM on the more progressive side but don't want a headache.

Castle - Under Siege

A pitch dark release with a lot of occult undertones that cripes under your feeble skin. The inevitable end has never felt so close as I listen to the record with the warmth from the black flame burning strong inside.

Its an release for all those out there how appreciate all occult female fronted metal bands out there, and this is absolutely one of the better once.

Todays release are yet another one of those female fronted occult metal bands that have been popping up the latest years. Don't get me wrong, I fucking love most of those bands, and Satyress ain't any exception.

The band are heavy on the doom metal side with massive dark doom riffs that echos and brings an thick heaviness to the album. Together with the beautiful possessed like vocals from Jamie LaRose which creates an pitch dark album for a wicked night.

Angrenost - Planet Muscaria

Start up those gears and let the hydraulic fluid pump with this industrial BM band from Portugal. But don't be fooled by the subgenre of music they play, the lyrics aren't about any animatronic cybertech shit, it is instead mostly in the space theme, about cosmos, galaxies and the astral stuff you know, so you may not drop your chin in amazement!!! They are definitely not the best in the subgenre, but absolutely not the worst in anyway either, they are pretty good to be honest! Its always nice to put on this type of record if you are in the right mood for some electronic spacy sounds, samples and drum machines!

Grave Miasma - Odori Sepulcrorum

Here we have an abyssal dark obus to deal with. They have worked out the ancient formula how to mix black and death metal with a great result. Its heavy, gloomy and mysterious at the same time with the dreadful and beautiful intricate guitar arrangements. Its all performed with a very subdued production and a darker voice, which all brings to the heaviness! They succeed with the difficult task to combine the old school sound with newer stuff which results in an excellent soundscape, that both feels old and new.

Set - Upheaval of Unholy Darkness

Now we are  talking fucking dark, everything is so dark on this black/death metal hybrid that not a ray of sunlight ever had the chance to shine on the bottomless chasm that is this opus. Its slow, dirty and sinister. Its kind of doomy in its way with the heavy slow tuned down guitars and the guttural (and sometimes screaming vocals) from the far beyond. There is a heavy presence of atmosphere on this album that cloaks it all in an sunproof eternal fog. It cozy as hell underneath it, and you want to stay there for the whole experience.

Cult of Fire - मृत्यु का तापसी अनुध्यान (Ascetic Meditation of Death)

Oh Kali, this record, where should I begin?!? The first time I heard this record, after I just had listened to the first notes on the beginning track, those tunes spoked directly to me, to the deepest fearsome parts of the body and mind. I couldn't stop thinking of this album, I heard the chaintings, the meditational rhythms, instruments and the atmosphere of it all. I came to the realisation that I was possessed beyond all salvation by this epic occult creation, and it only grew deeper. I insist this is something out of the ordinary, It ain't often you come over a record that are this excellent on so many levels, and that starts on such high pedestal only to claim higher. Its an almost perfect constellation of bombastic black metal with instruments and tones from hindu mythos combined with the luciferian teachings. This is the textbook example how you make music the right way without the syntherziser taking over, this is the definition of quality black metal! Unlike other shit you hear today, this has a higher meaning, a higher consciousness!!! This album is like a fine wine, it's not just something you put on in the background and minds your own business, this is a album you put on to really listening to, tasting it, analysing it and embracing it, this is a whole experience!!! Maybe one of the best releases last year!?!

Filii Nigrantium Infernalium - Pornokrates: Deo Gratias

This is a kind of interesting christ-defying cocktail with a lot of heavy- and thrash metal influences mixed in the receduce of black metal in the bottom of a black bucket. It overflows with all kinds of classical heavy metal riffs, and it ain't that bad, most of the times. Not much remains of what once were of this old portuguese group, but it's still a rewarding listening experience to take, at least once...

Germ - Grief

I really had high expectations for this album after his last EP "Loss" which I cherished indefinitely. But this album disappointingly does not live up to the predecessor. It absolutely ain't bad, the melancholy, the emptiness and despair is all present with its keyboard oriented music. But the mood is not quite here, the synthesizers and clean vocals takes up to much space and destroys some tracks that could have been great.

Absent Heat - Absence of Heat

This is an excellent album if you need to slumber. For almost everytime I have listened to this record I have fallen asleep. I don't really know why, it ain't that boring, maybe its the soundscape that sooths you or some magick stuff. But this album moves you're far away into your unconsciousness anyway. Other then that is this the typical stuff for depressive BM with noisy guitars and rabid distorted screams. Try it if you can't sleep.

REVIEW Esoterica - Aseity

This is a review I have been holding on to for a while, letting it incubate in the depths of the mind. For you see, this isn't just some run of the mill BM album that you just put on and enjoy, you really gotta be in the right mood for this psychosis producing artcraft. The sounds this album generates through the speakers digs into your the deepest parts of the pulsating brain, and almost brings you to a hallucinogenic state. That is if you close your eyes and leave every bit of normal reasoning and let yourself fall into a trance-existential place. This is another one of those records that's almost impossible to put words on (fuzzy ones at least!), it must be experienced to really understand it. Give it a shot and inject your brain with some madness!!!

REVIEW Nahemoth - Novum Testamentum: Evangelium Morti

My first impression of the album were that it kind of sounded like Watain, but that were merely an hasty illusion from my ears and mind. They are not in any way close to the excellent music Watain produces. But don't get me wrong, this is in no way a bad album, rather the opposite. I like what I am hearing here with its kind of melodic and  Dissection odorus BM. From the beginning church bells that sets the mood with some obligated acoustic guitars. There are nothing wrong with the musical actions either, they kind of bring everything you want from this kind of album, with both atmosphere, lyrically and the mixture with both the more calm parts with the echoing melody from the guitar to the more fastpaced parts. Its a good fucking album to sum it all up. Look it up!!!
